The Ziaian House stands apart with its intricate brickwork and the tall, wind-catching badgir rising above the neighborhood rooftops in Shiraz. Built during the Qajar era, this residence served as the private home of a merchant family who integrated traditional cooling systems directly into their living quarters. During the late nineteenth century, the family hosted local poets and scholars in the central courtyard, keeping the interior rooms comfortable even during the heat of the summer months. The original wooden carvings remain intact today.
