Vakil Historical Bath

The Vakil Bath features an octagonal central chamber with a ceiling decorated in intricate lime plaster reliefs. Karim Khan Zand commissioned this structure in the eighteenth century as part of his royal complex in Shiraz. He designed it with a sunken floor and narrow entrance to trap heat inside during the winter. Locals once gathered here for elaborate bathing rituals that lasted for hours, turning the bathhouse into a primary social hub for the city. Its heavy stone dome remains a landmark of Zand architecture.
