Shapouri House

The Shapouri House wears a crown of jagged, unconventional columns across its front facade, distinct from the uniform rows of pillars on most houses from the Pahlavi era. Abolghasem Mohandesi designed the mansion in the nineteen thirties for a wealthy merchant named Abdolsaheb Shapouri. The family lived here until the early nineteen nineties, when the house sat abandoned for several years. Today, the building serves as a public space, holding onto the intricate tilework and the symmetrical gardens of its original construction.
