The Namazi High School stands apart with its sharp, clean red brick facade and the tall, arched entrance that anchors the street corner. It was founded in nineteen forty-five by the philanthropist Mohammad Namazi. He wanted to provide the city with a modern school modeled after institutions he admired abroad. For decades, the classrooms inside have held the students who would become the engineers and doctors of Shiraz. Mohammad Namazi kept a small office here, checking on the building long after it opened.
