The Saraye Moshir is identifiable by its tall, tiled entrance portal, decorated with intricate floral patterns and verses that lead into an octagonal courtyard. Built during the Qajar era by Mirza Abolhassan Khan Moshir-ol-Molk, the governor of Fars, this complex functioned as a center for trade and craftsmanship. In the center, a large fountain pool sits beneath ancient orange trees, surrounded by two stories of shops where merchants continue to sell traditional Persian handicrafts, copperware, and intricate marquetry known as khatam-kari.
