A series of nineteenth century villas clings to the cliffside here, connected by private elevators that drop through the sheer rock to reach the sea. Giuseppe Gamberale bought this land in nineteen oh four, turning his family home into a hotel with six guest rooms. He hung his hat on the idea that travelers wanted to live in an actual Amalfi house. Today, the hotel remains in the hands of the same family, spanning five generations of keeping the keys.
