Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramírez El Nigromante

The thick, heavy wooden doors of the former convent of the Conception open into a sprawling complex defined by its massive, empty central courtyard and quiet, sun-drenched cloisters. Once a seventeenth century nunnery, the building now serves as a cultural hub named for a local radical writer. David Alfaro Siqueiros walked into this space in nineteen forty-eight, picked up his brush, and left behind an unfinished, towering mural of Ignacio Ramírez that stares down from the back wall of the gallery.
