Church of Our Lady of Health

The Church of Our Lady of Health stands out for its curved, eighteenth-century facade, which follows the bend of the street rather than sitting flush with the sidewalk. It occupies the site of the town's original sixteenth-century hospital chapel. In seventeen thirty-five, a local woman named Maria de la Canal funded the current structure. She sought to honor a small painting of the Virgin that was said to have cured her father of a grave illness, establishing this building as a sanctuary of healing.
