Museo Histórico Casa de Allende

The house of Ignacio Allende features a deep pink stone facade carved with intricate floral motifs and the heraldic shield of the Allende family. This residence belonged to one of the primary leaders of the Mexican War of Independence, born here in seventeen sixty-nine. Allende turned his family home into a clandestine meeting place, where he and his fellow conspirators plotted against the Spanish crown. Today, the courtyard remains quiet, but it once contained secret caches of weapons destined for the insurgency.
