Fuente de la Sirena

The Fuente de la Sirena stands out as a stone fountain capped by a carved mermaid clutching a fish. Built in the mid-eighteenth century, this basin served as one of the few reliable sources of fresh water for residents in this part of the city. Legend claims that a young woman once refused a marriage proposal here, casting her heavy silver ring into the water instead. She vanished soon after, and locals say her spirit took the shape of the mermaid.
