The Hotel New York features a high, turreted roof and a red brick facade that stands out against the modern steel skyline of the Kop van Zuid. This building served as the headquarters for the Holland America Line from nineteen oh one until the early nineteen seventies. Thousands of European immigrants passed through these doors on their way to board ships bound for New York. Today, the former ticket office retains its original high ceilings and tall windows where those travelers once waited for their crossings.
