The building known as the Peeled Egg stands out for its curved, white concrete facade that splits open at the top, mimicking the irregular edges of a broken eggshell. Architects designed this structure in the mid-nineteen eighties to house the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce. It sits on a prominent corner in Al Balad, defying the traditional geometric lines of the surrounding historical district. Its smooth, bulbous form remains a distinct departure from the stone and coral houses that define the rest of the neighborhood.
