The Old Ship Hotel

The Old Ship Hotel features a stark, white-stucco facade with rows of iron-railed balconies overlooking the sea. It started as a humble inn in the sixteenth century, serving sailors and travelers arriving at the coast. By the seventeen hundreds, it transformed into a grand assembly house where the local aristocracy gathered for balls and cards. Paganini famously held a concert in the Paganini Ballroom here in eighteen thirty-one, leaving behind a reputation for both high culture and rowdy nights.
