The Clyde Arc crosses the river with a distinct, sweeping steel arch that leans at an angle, forcing the two spans to meet in a jagged, asymmetrical point. Engineers built the bridge in two thousand and six to link the south side of the city directly to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. During construction, the heavy steel segments arrived by barge and needed precise tidal timing to be lifted into place. Locals call it the Squinty Bridge because of its off-center appearance.
