The exterior of Cindy's Lei and Flower Shoppe features a curved, corrugated metal roof that mimics the simple quonset hut style once common across Honolulu. Cindy Lau opened this storefront in nineteen seventy-eight to provide fresh lei to the community, operating out of a space tucked between larger commercial buildings. She spent years sourcing blossoms from local growers to hand-weave every garland. Customers still line up here to buy strings of tuberose and plumeria for graduations, weddings, and everyday traditions.
