Gangway Gallery

other

The Gangway Gallery sits within a narrow, dimly lit alleyway in downtown Honolulu, marked by the weathered, industrial frame of a former storage space. This spot served for years as the backdrop for unsanctioned underground art shows where local painters nailed canvases directly to the peeling brick walls. When the city began its push to revitalize the district, organizers converted the raw passage into a permanent exhibition hall. The concrete floor still bears the faint, indelible paint splatters from those early chaotic nights.
