The Foster/White Gallery occupies a storefront in the historic Pioneer Square district, marked by large, arched windows and exposed brick walls that date back to the late nineteenth century. Established in nineteen sixty-eight, the gallery grew from a small collective into a venue that helped define the contemporary art scene in the Pacific Northwest. It was here that artist Dale Chihuly began his professional career, showing his first glass works in the gallery space long before the medium gained international fame.
