The Gray Sky Gallery sits behind a set of heavy, oversized glass doors that push inward from the sidewalk. Inside, the walls hold canvases that often feature thick, textured oil paint in deep blues and grays, echoing the weather outside. It occupies a space once used for industrial storage in the nineteen-tens. In two thousand two, the owners moved away from traditional gallery white walls, choosing instead to paint the interior charcoal to make the artwork pop against the dark backdrop.
