Sinclair Centre

The Sinclair Centre occupies an entire city block, identifiable by its sandstone facade and the prominent, restored clock tower rising above the intersection of Hastings and Granville. This complex links four distinct federal buildings, including the old post office and customs house, constructed between nineteen oh five and nineteen thirty-nine. Architect Henriquez and Partners joined these structures into a single atrium in nineteen eighty-six. A customs inspector once caught a smuggler here by noticing a suspicious bulge in a woman's Victorian-era bustle.
