The building housing QMUNITY on Bute Street is a modest, two-story house that sits quietly among the glass towers of the West End. Before this space became a center for queer, trans, and two-spirit people, it served as a private residence for decades. In the late nineteen seventies, the community organization moved into this converted home to create a permanent headquarters. It functions as a hub for counseling and advocacy work, operating out of a domestic structure that feels intentionally like a living room.
