The Yale Saloon

The Yale Saloon sits at the corner of Granville and Drake with a weathered brick exterior that predates the surrounding high-rises. It opened in eighteen eighty-nine, just three years after the city incorporated. While early patrons drank beer and traded mining gossip, the building survived the Great Vancouver Fire and decades of urban redevelopment. Today, it operates as a country-themed bar, though the original wood flooring still carries the scuffs of those first loggers and prospectors who walked through the door.
