Vancouver Block

other

The Vancouver Block features a massive, four-faced clock tower that dominates the corner of Granville and Georgia Streets. Built in nineteen twelve for a local businessman named Dominion Trust, the twelve-story structure was the tallest office building in the city when it opened. The clock faces are each thirteen feet wide, and their mechanical works require a technician to climb a steep, narrow ladder to wind the gears by hand every single week to keep the time precise.
