Winter Bear features a prominent mural of a polar bear constructed from hundreds of distinct, colorful mosaic tiles. Local artist Sarah Clement installed the piece to draw attention to the shrinking habitats of northern species. While the bear itself stands as a quiet focal point on the brick facade, it functions as a collection of individual stories; many neighbors purchased specific tiles during the construction process to have their own initials or messages permanently embedded into the creature’s fur.
