The Fountainhead Pub sits at the corner of Davie and Thurlow with a bright red storefront that stands out against the gray sidewalk. For decades, this corner served as a neighborhood hub, but it earned its local reputation when it became one of the first openly gay bars in Vancouver's West End during the nineteen eighties. It opened when the community needed a dedicated space to gather, and it remains a place where the neighborhood meets to share a drink today.
