The seven-story brick facade of Sweet Seven rises with an unusual rhythm of bay windows and deep balconies along the street. Built in nineteen oh nine, this apartment house originally served the influx of wealthy residents who favored the West End for its proximity to Stanley Park. Arthur J. Bird designed the building, packing it with high-end amenities like tiled fireplaces and mahogany woodwork. It stayed a private residence for decades before the city designated it a heritage site to protect its Edwardian architecture.
