Tapa Bar occupies a narrow, deep space on Trounce Alley, marked by a bright blue storefront and tables spilling out onto the cobblestones. This site once served as the home of the Victoria Daily Times newspaper. In the nineteen eighties, the owners stripped away decades of renovations to reveal the original brick walls and high ceilings, turning the former press room into a restaurant. The heavy steel beams still run across the ceiling, supporting the weight of the offices that occupied the floors above.
