Dreaming is a massive, hollow head crafted from white resin and marble dust that stands twenty-six feet tall. Jaume Plensa shaped it with eyes tightly shut, resting against a bed of light-colored stone. Its translucent surface glows from internal LED lights after sunset, casting shadows across the plaza. Plensa designed this piece to represent the quiet space between wakefulness and sleep. He filled the shell with letters from multiple alphabets, a recurring motif in his work that reflects his fascination with global communication.
