Knox College stands out for its dramatic Gothic Revival architecture, marked by a massive, ornate stone tower that looms over the corner of Saint George and Harbord streets. Established as a Presbyterian seminary, the building was completed in nineteen fifteen to provide students with a space for rigorous theological study. When the First World War broke out, the college became a military hospital, housing wounded soldiers in its grand hallways and library rather than training new ministers in those early classrooms.
