Bellevue Square Park

Bellevue Square Park features a cast-iron fountain at its center, surrounded by mature trees that sit lower than the surrounding sidewalks. This land belonged to the estate of George Taylor Denison, a local magistrate who built his home here in eighteen fifteen. He named the property Bellevue for the view of the city it once offered. After the city acquired the grounds in nineteen fifty-eight, the house was demolished, leaving behind the open green space that residents use for gatherings today.
