Jean-Paul-L'Allier Garden

park garden

The Jean-Paul-L'Allier Garden centers on a massive, rusted steel archway salvaged from the remains of a demolished highway overpass. This public space occupies what was once a gray, industrial thoroughfare, now transformed into a terraced landscape of perennials and flowering shrubs. The park honors the former mayor who pushed to revitalize this neighborhood during the nineties. A section of the original concrete pillar remains standing near the flowers, still bearing the faded traffic lane markers from when cars sped overhead.
