The Notre-Dame de Quebec Basilica-Cathedral stands out by its dual-towered facade, which rises above the narrow stone streets of Old Quebec. This site has served as the heart of Catholic life in North America since sixteen forty-seven. When a fire tore through the structure in nineteen twenty-two, workers discovered the remains of early bishops buried beneath the floorboards. Their graves had been hidden for centuries. Today, the basilica holds the only Holy Door located outside of Europe.
