Fontaine de Tourny

The Fontaine de Tourny rises in the center of the roundabout, featuring three tiers of ornate ironwork, bronze figures, and dramatic water jets. Originally cast in France for the eighteen fifty-five World Fair in Paris, the fountain spent over a century in Bordeaux. It eventually landed in Quebec City as a four hundredth anniversary gift from a local jewelry magnate. Sculptor Mathurin Moreau designed the piece, filling it with mythological figures who seem to watch the Parliament building across the street.
