Musée du Palais Lascaris

The Palais Lascaris features a facade of ornate, seventeenth-century Genoese stone carvings and oversized, arched doorways that distinguish it from the plain residential buildings on the street. Built by the Vintimille-Lascaris family, it served as their private residence for decades. The most famous resident, Jean-Baptiste Lascaris, famously packed his bags and fled the city when French revolutionaries arrived in seventeen ninety-two. The interior preserves original frescoes and a massive collection of antique musical instruments, including a rare harpsichord from seventeen hundred.
