Pipat Antiquités

The front of Pipat Antiquités is crowded with tarnished silverware, heavy wooden clocks, and stacks of oil paintings leaning against one another. Jean Pipat opened this shop when the Chartrons district still functioned as the primary hub for wine merchants and barrel makers. He spent decades gathering objects from the crumbling estates of the Gironde, often filling every square inch of the floor until the shop became a labyrinth. Customers still pick their way through his collection of nineteenth century remnants today.
