Parc Youri Gagarine features a distinct bust of the Soviet cosmonaut set against the backdrop of Levallois-Perret. The town council commissioned the sculpture in nineteen sixty-three, just two years after Gagarine became the first human to travel into space. Levallois-Perret had maintained a sister-city relationship with a Moscow district, and this green space served as a public gesture of that connection. The park remains a quiet corner where the early enthusiasm of the space race meets local neighborhood life.
