Notre-Dame-de-l'Arche-d'Alliance

The church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Arche-d'Alliance sits in the middle of the fifteenth arrondissement, recognizable by its translucent, spherical roof made of polished metal and glass. Architect Architecture-Studio designed this structure in nineteen ninety-eight to replace a cramped parish hall. While traditional churches rely on stone walls, this building uses a steel framework that creates a light, cage-like effect. Inside, the space remains entirely open, centered around a massive wooden altar that came from the older building it replaced.
