Parc du Colonel Manhes features a rusted steel sculpture by the artist Ossip Zadkine, dedicated to the memory of Colonel Manhes. This small urban park replaced a former military barracks that occupied the site for decades. Colonel François Manhes served as a high-ranking officer in the French Resistance during the Second World War. He organized networks that sabotaged German infrastructure before his capture and deportation to the Buchenwald concentration camp, where he survived until the liberation of the camp in nineteen forty-five.
