The Weißfrauenkirche features a distinctive, modern concrete facade and a slender, solitary bell tower that rises sharply above the surrounding buildings of the Bahnhofsviertel. Originally a thirteenth-century convent for the Carmelite sisters, the church survived for centuries until Allied bombing raids leveled the structure in nineteen forty-four. The postwar building standing here today replaced the ruins, housing a congregation that emphasizes social outreach. A charred, salvaged stone crucifix from the medieval site hangs inside, serving as the only physical remnant.
