Old Lutheran Church

The Old Lutheran Church in Krigeville stands out for its humble, whitewashed gabled facade and the bell tower that sits separate from the main structure. Built in the mid nineteenth century, the church served the small community of German laborers and craftsmen who worked on the surrounding wine farms. When the local congregation failed to gather the funds for a traditional connected steeple, they erected a freestanding wooden frame for the bell, a feature that still defines the site today.
