Balcony House Museum

The Balcony House stands apart with its distinctive, overhanging timber balcony that extends directly over the sidewalk of Market Street. Built in the late eighteenth century, it ranks as the oldest wooden residence in Nassau. Its walls consist of native pine, held together by wooden pegs rather than nails. For decades, the house served as a home for high-ranking government officials and merchants, while today it holds a collection of period antiques, reflecting how elite Bahamian families lived during the colonial era.
