John Watling's Distillery

historic

The Buena Vista Estate stands out with its pale yellow walls and wide, wrap-around verandas that define its colonial architecture. Built in seventeen eighty-nine, this house once served as a social hub for Nassau’s elite, hosting everyone from royalty to local politicians. In nineteen ninety-four, the building was nearly destroyed by fire, but restoration crews salvaged the original timber and stone. Today, John Watling’s Distillery operates inside, producing rum where diplomats and socialites once danced under the high wooden ceilings.
