The Graycliff Hotel is a pale yellow Georgian colonial mansion with wide, shuttered windows and deep verandas. Polly Leach, a pirate captain, built the house in seventeen forty. Later, a British naval officer named John Howard Graysmith bought the estate and gave it his name. In nineteen sixty-six, Enrico Garzaroli and his wife Anna Maria bought the property. Enrico spent his evenings in the cellar, eventually building what remains one of the largest private wine collections in the world.
