SALT At Our Kaka'ako

other

SALT at Our Kakaako is a collection of low-rise, industrial-style buildings painted in stark white, marked by the long, horizontal slats that screen its parking garage. This block replaces the old salt ponds that once covered the area, where Hawaiian workers harvested sea salt for generations. In twenty-fifteen, developers transformed the site from an aging warehouse district into a commercial hub. The name honors that original industry, keeping the memory of the salt flats inside a landscape of modern concrete and glass.
