The wall on the corner of Prairie and Travis holds a massive, vibrant portrait of a young girl holding a pencil to her lips as if lost in thought. This mural by the Brazilian artist Vinie is part of the Big Art Bigger Change project, which commissioned artists to paint themes of environmental and social sustainability across downtown Houston. Vinie, known for her recurring character of a curious girl with wide eyes, chose to represent the power of education and the potential held by the next generation.
