Belin | Big Art Bigger Change | Mural

landmark

The mural on the corner of Market Square features a hyper-realistic, colossal eye. Painted by the Spanish artist Belin, the portrait blends disparate facial features into a single, seamless composition. Belin uses his signature post-neo-cubism style, where distorted anatomy creates a strange, singular face that occupies the entire height of the brick wall. It was commissioned for the Big Art Bigger Change project, which filled downtown Houston with massive works meant to highlight social and environmental issues across the city.
