The mural spanning the wall at Market Square Park features a vibrant, chaotic explosion of Houston imagery painted by the local artist Mario Figueroa Junior, known to the city as GONZO247. He covered the surface in two thousand thirteen with stylized silhouettes of the skyline, NASA shuttles, and iconic Texas symbols using his signature spray-paint aesthetic. While the city commissioned the work to brighten the square, Figueroa filled the wall with the grit and color of his own street-art background.
