Sabine Street Bridge

landmark

The Sabine Street Bridge spans Buffalo Bayou with a steel arch frame painted a distinct, bright shade of blue. It connects the downtown skyline to the sprawling trails of Buffalo Bayou Park. Before the current structure opened in two thousand nine, the original nineteen-twenties bridge served as a critical path for commuters crossing the water. Engineers designed this replacement to mirror the old concrete aesthetic while using modern steel, allowing pedestrians to traverse the bayou safely while the downtown traffic passes overhead.
