Devonian Gardens sits suspended on the top floor of the CORE Shopping Centre, identifiable by the massive glass ceiling that floods the space with light. When it opened in nineteen seventy-seven, it provided a tropical sanctuary during harsh Alberta winters, complete with reflecting pools and palm trees. A multi-million dollar renovation in twenty-twelve replaced the original layout with a modern design, including a living wall and a large indoor playground. It exists today as a public park maintained by the city.
