Education Centre Building

The Education Centre Building in downtown Calgary features a dark, precast concrete facade broken by rows of recessed, square windows. Completed in nineteen sixty-nine, the structure served as the headquarters for the Calgary Board of Education for over fifty years. Architect A. Dale instituted a modular design, stacking identical concrete panels to create a heavy, industrial appearance. In twenty twenty-one, the building transitioned from a public school administration hub into a residential complex, following a full renovation of the interior office spaces.
