The Suncor Energy Centre consists of two granite-clad towers linked by a glass-enclosed galleria. Designed by Foster and Partners and opened in nineteen eighty-four, the complex replaced a smaller site to anchor the city's corporate district. While the taller tower reaches fifty-three stories, the distinct diagonal bracing on the exterior allows for column-free interior spaces. During the initial design, architects had to accommodate the harsh prairie winds, leading to a structural form that sheds high-altitude gusts before they reach the ground level.
